Projects

As someone who likes to contribute to the open source community, I have projects that need contributors. This page is where I’ll share some of those projects.

Project Portfolio

In the following subsections, you’ll find all the projects I’ve written about at some point on this site. As a result, descriptions may not be fully up-to-date or detailed. Feel free to follow the linked articles for more information.

Sample Programs in Every Language

Currently, my largest and most popular project is the Sample Programs in Every Language repository on GitHub. If you’re unfamiliar with this project, basically it’s a collection of code snippets in as many languages as possible.

What makes this project kind of fun is the written aspect of it. In addition to writing code snippets, you have the opportunity to be a guest author of The Renegade Coder. If you find a code snippet that doesn’t have an article, perhaps you could be its author.

Below you can find a list of all the articles I’ve written for the Sample Programs collection.

As you can see, there’s a lot to get your hands on. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Sample Programs Wiki Generator

As an extension to the Sample Programs repo, I’ve built a tool in Python to generate the Sample Programs wiki. The generated wiki is a collection of tables which allows us to see metadata about the repo. For example, we can see how many total snippets the repo contains as well as the snippet breakdown per letter (i.e. languages that start with t) and per language (i.e. python).

Below you can find a list of articles related to the sample program wiki generator:

If any of that sounds interesting, why not give me a hand.

Image Titler

Beyond the Sample Programs projects, I’ve also written some code to help out on The Renegade Coder side of things. In particular, I’ve written a short Python script which generates titles for my featured images.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Image Titler script, check out the following articles:

If you’re looking to extend the existing script for yourself, why not fork the repo today?
