As someone who likes to contribute to the open source community, I have projects that need contributors. This page is where I’ll share some of those projects.
Sample Programs in Every Language
Currently, my largest and most popular project is the Sample Programs in Every Language repository on GitHub. If you’re unfamiliar with this project, basically it’s a collection of code snippets in as many languages as possible.
What makes this project kind of fun is the written aspect of it. In addition to writing code snippets, you have the opportunity to be a guest author of The Renegade Coder. If you find a code snippet that doesn’t have an article, perhaps you could be its author.
At the moment, the Sample Programs in Every Language project is broken into several smaller projects:
- Sample Programs: the language snippet collection
- Sample Programs Wiki Generator: a Python tool which generates the Sample Programs wiki
- In Every Lang: a website which will hopefully host Sample Programs analytics
- Sample Programs App: a React Native application which will hopefully allow users to browse and run Sample Programs snippets as well as share their respective articles
As you can see, there’s a lot to get your hands on. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Awhile back, I was toying with the idea of making a library application that could be used almost like a social network. Users could join the service which would allow them to sell, buy, loan, return, and trade books online. In addition, the tool would support itself through Amazon Affiliate revenue.
Unfortunately, I was never experienced enough to complete the project, so I opened it up to the community. Feel free to peruse the repository and make your improvements.
