It’s week three of 2018, and I’m already closing in on my first year as the founder of The Renegade Coder. With Issue #39, my plan is to just chat about a mini vacation I took this past weekend in Florida.

MLK Jr. Weekend in Florida

If you read my holiday update, then you know Morgan and I went up to Erie for the holidays. Originally, we had planned to come all the way down to Florida to visit our grandparents after that trip, but we decided to take some time to rest. Of course, those plans were never lost. Since Morgan and I both had Martin Luther King Jr. day off, we decided to spend that weekend in Florida with our families.

A Late Drive

Unfortunately, we couldn’t teleport down to Florida, so we had to drive. Our first stop was Englewood to visit Morgan’s grandparents. From Atlanta, the total trip was about 9 hours, but we didn’t leave until we had both finished work. In other words, we arrived at quarter to 3AM.

The Bridal Party

The next day was spent on the bridal party. Don’t worry! I was invited. In fact, I got to help Morgan’s family pick up the cake and food. After that, I spent most of the day eating and playing Poker. Of course, Morgan and I got showered in gifts, so we were thankful for that. 🙂

I also spent some time that day fixing up technology around the house. For instance, they had a laptop that was running pretty slowly. It hadn’t been updated in a while, and it had a virus. So, I spent some time fixing it up for them. I also helped them setup Netflix, so that was pretty fun.

A Trip North

After spending some time with Morgan’s grandparents, we headed out to see my grandparents in Leesburg. When we got there, we were treated to a nice dinner. Then, we spent the rest of the night and the next morning just chatting. It was great to finally see them again and catch up. Hopefully, we can visit again soon!

Song of the Week

To keep up with the theme of last week, here’s another potential wedding song by one of my favorite bands, The Wonder Years:

If you like The Wonder Years (or my site), consider grabbing the song on Amazon.
