Hello! Welcome to the about page. My name is Jeremy Grifski, and I’m the founder of The Renegade Coder, a software education website officially launched in April 2017. The purpose of The Renegade Coder is two-fold:

  1. To provide free software curriculum to the developer community (see Code and Teach)
  2. To document my journey as a developer, author, and mentor (see Blog and Meta)

As long as I’m true to those ideals, we’ll all be satisfied. Of course, to sustain that mission, I rely on support from people like you. If you’d like to show your support, make sure to become a member, hop on the mailing list, or follow me on Twitter.

If you’re interested in learning more about me, check out my portfolio. Meanwhile, if you’d like to learn more about the website, feel free to take a look at the following documents:

With that said, as inspired by Alex Ewerlöf, I feel I must state that I have not, do not, and will never use generative AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude at any point in my writing process. In addition, while I offer the content of my website to anyone who wants to learn from me, nothing I write is permitted to be used for training generative AI models. Like Alex, I am under no illusion that this kind of statement means anything to companies that will continue to scrape my work, but I owe it to myself and my readers to be transparent about where I stand in regards to generative AI.
