Chapter Closing Season

Guess what! The Renegade Coder is already one month old. How’s that for an update? Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get any writing done, but I did get to do a ton of other fun things. This week the update is pretty brief as it’s chapter closing season, but I should be back at it again soon.

Table of Contents

A-Course

Last Monday, I finally got to kick off chapter closing season by finishing A Course. No longer will I spend late nights on GE related work (fingers crossed until B Course). Instead, I plan to focus the free time on the site and a couple other side projects like powlib and getting ready to move. I should have some pretty substantial news on the move soon! 🙂

Eucharist

Last Sunday, one of Morgan’s cousins took part in one of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church: Eucharist. The event itself is known as Holy Communion, and I was fortunate enough to tag along in support. I think I would have experienced my first Holy Communion back in 2003 though I’ll keep quiet about my current affiliation with the Catholic Church.

Java Review Material

As you all know, I’ve been diligently generating content for the Java Basics Review tutorial. I’m very serious about drafting up a complete review, so naturally it’s been taking some time. However, I should be finished within the upcoming week. I’m planning to polish off the code within the next couple days then writing up the official problem statement. Of course, that doesn’t mean I’m finished. I then need to draft up a quiz and put together some material for the Readability tutorial. Hopefully, I can get all of that done soon!

Playoff Hockey

Alright, let’s not forget it’s playoff hockey season! A good portion of every night has been devoted to watching hockey, and fortunately for me it’s been pretty good (#LGP). Except tonight of course. The Pens had a solid game but silly mistakes cost them the night. I’m hoping they can add to chapter closing season by closing out the series Thursday, but the stress isn’t really doing me any favors.

Coming Soon to The Renegade Coder!

As mentioned above, the biggest updates coming up are related to the Java Basics series. In fact, I really just want to polish that off and bury it for awhile. If I don’t, I’ll never have a store! So with that said, expect the next week to be pretty dead again. Perhaps by the end of the month I’ll be ready to create my first product.

The Legacy Newsletter (56 Articles)—Series Navigation

For a long time, I used to try to write a custom newsletter every week which eventually became every month. If you’re interested in browsing those old posts just to see how this site came to be, I’ve created a small series for you. Check it out!

Today, the regular newsletter is issued via email which you can access by becoming a member of The Renegade Coder. Alternatively, you can subscribe to the newsletterOpens in a new tab. directly through MailChimp.
