Happily Ever After: Getting Engaged in Disney

Happily Ever After Featured Image

Welcome back to another update. I hope everyone in the US enjoyed their Thanksgiving and avoided the consumerism mess that is Black Friday. I know I sure did! In fact, I actually made my way out to Disney World in Orlando. Beyond eating and walking, I also made a little Disney magic of my own by finally getting engaged to Morgan. And we lived happily ever after…

Just kidding! Now, we’re set to start planning our wedding, so I’m sure to be posting all about that in the coming weeks. Of course, a lot of other things will be changing in my life over the next couple months, so I’ll have plenty to write about. Maybe I’ll start writing about code again soon!

Thanksgiving

This year I missed out on my first family Thanksgiving. Instead of heading home, I went down to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with Morgan’s family. I had a good time, and I met a bunch of new people. Unfortunately, Morgan’s grandpa ended up in the hospital with a blockage in one of his arteries. Luckily, he walked out of the hospital just a few days later.

Beyond that, I spent a ton of time driving. Morgan and I spent about 7 hours just getting down there and over 8 hours getting back. Can’t wait to try to do that again come Holiday time!

Disney!

After Thanksgiving, Morgan and I spent Friday and Saturday in Disney. Of course, I’d love to tell you more, but I’m planning a post about the proposal. For now, I’ll just say that we spent the first day in EpcotOpens in a new tab. and the second day in Magic Kingdom. We did absolutely nothing but eat and walk. It was glorious.

In the words of Disney, we all lived happily ever after!

Song of the Week

Last week, I went on a bit of a rant surrounding Erie politics. If you haven’t checked that out, give it a look. This week, I want to share a song I just stumbled upon on Facebook. I think it will serve as a nice callback to that article:

I don’t have a link for this song since it came out today, but Joyner does have some other music.

Coming Soon to The Renegade Coder!

Sorry for the short article this week. We didn’t get back from Florida until almost 9PM on Sunday, and I ended up spending the rest of that night frantically completing an assignment for our TEFL course. Also, I took two days off this week to go into the classroom with Morgan to get my observation hours, so I’ve been busy.

I think this week I’ll get to work on the Disney article. I wrote most of it awhile back while I planned my proposal, so it shouldn’t take too long. Other than that, I’d like to get back to writing about software. Unfortunately, I’ve been buried in it at work, so my passion for coding has started to drift. Being in the classroom has definitely killed my drive for coding as well.
